How to care for your equipment

Did you know that regular maintenance of your orthopedic device is essential? In fact, it helps prolong its life.

1. foot orthosis

 

  • Clean them with a cloth and mild soap, without immersing them completely in water
  • Leave to air-dry for at least 24 hours
  • Do not expose them to sunlight or any other source of heat
  • Remove them regularly from your shoes to eliminate moisture

2.compression garments

Compression garments require regular maintenance. Taking the right precautions will ensure their longevity.

 

  • Wash your garments after each use with a mild soap, by hand or on a delicate cycle
  • Do not add fabric softener
  • Avoid direct heat (dryer, radiator, sun)
  • Towel-dry and air-dry only
  • Don’t iron your clothes

3.Mobility

 

  • Inspect backrest and seat for stains, tears or wear
  • Clean wheels and axles with a damp cloth
  • Check frame and wheel integrity

4.Knee orthosis

Knee braces need regular care.

  • Wash it fairly frequently by hand with lukewarm water and neutral soap
  • Don’t leave it to soak in water, as this could eventually damage it
  • Absorb moisture with a towel, then let it air dry
  • It’s best to keep your brace away from sources of direct heat. This could deform some of the brace’s components
