The right gestures to avoid falls

Falls prevention is an important public health issue among our seniors.

*Every year in Quebec, nearly 300,000 people aged 65 and over suffer a fall (MSSS, 2019). This represents the leading cause of hospitalization in this age group. But there are ways to prevent falls. To make the most of outdoor activities at any age, here are a few tips on what seniors and their loved ones can do right.

Here are a few things you can do to prevent falls

Falls can be prevented on a daily basis, both in your activities and when you’re out and about!

  • Remove any clutter from your front door, such as leaves, snow, etc.
  • Clear any objects from stairs,
  • Wear non-slip boots or crampons if necessary, then remove them as soon as you get inside.
  • Equip your interior with suitable products
