By definition, sleep apnea is characterized by complete arrest or decrease (hypopnea) of the respiratory flow for a minimum of 10 seconds. This medical condition leads to sleep deprivation which, in the long term, can cause serious health problems.

The management of sleep apnea syndrome treatment is of primary importance.
