Activities for the Holiday Season

The holiday season is a time well appreciated by many where we take the opportunity to spend quality time with our loved ones. Whether it’s to relax in the comfort of your home, take a little getaway or honor family traditions, the important thing is to do things that bring comfort to the heart and take us into this beautiful magic.

To give you some ideas for activities to do during the holidays, we have specially designed an activity guide for you.

Happy Holidays!

Hit the slopes on alpine skis or snowboard

In December, although there are only a few big snowfalls, the ski slopes are already ready to receive skiers thanks to artificial snow. It’s the perfect time to get out the skis or snowboard again and start the season of these enjoyable winter sports.

In Quebec, we are lucky to have several beautiful mountains nearby to fully enjoy the season. What could be better than ending the day warm with a good raclette to share.

Did you know that it is possible to ski or snowboard with a knee brace and compression stockings? Indeed, if some people can sometimes feel instability in the knee, an orthosis is the solution to hit the slopes with complete confidence. Compression stockings will promote better endurance by improving blood circulation. Learn more

Enjoy the great outdoors

We will not hide the fact that the holiday season also means several receptions with delicious hors d’oeuvres, generous dishes and desserts. After eating too many pies and logs, why not dress warmly and get some fresh air?

Rally the troops and go for a hike in the forest or even a walk in the streets of your neighborhood. No matter the distance, the important thing is to move and stay active.

Make sure you have good walking boots that will support your feet and ankles so you are stable no matter the surface. Crampons can also be useful for staying safe on icy surfaces.

While your boots are drying thanks to the cedar wood shoe dryer, relax around a good hot chocolate with a small toast in your hand.

Put on your most beautiful aprons and take out the pots and pans

We all have signature recipes that we eat especially during the holidays and it wouldn’t be the same if they weren’t on the table. Each family holds the secret to a special recipe. Grandma’s cretons? Your aunt’s gingerbread cookies?

These recipes are more often than not a sign of family traditions and it is pleasant to put our hands together to make them. After all, what’s better than coming together around a good meal, not everyone’s cooking.

When we start preparing holiday food, we often have a lot on our plate, which means we’ll spend long hours standing in the kitchen tending the stove. To minimize leg fatigue, why not wear compression stockings while the scent of pie fills the house? Discover our selection of compression stockings to use for all occasions.

Prepare the popcorn for a home theater

For some, the holiday season is the perfect time to do marathons of our favorite films. Give your living room a little makeover to create your own home theater. Room for creativity! Place a mattress on the floor, transform your couch into a large bed with warm blankets or create ambiance with lights. Important rule, everyone must be in their pajamas and everyone’s favorite treats must be available. Of course, everyone must agree on the selection of films to watch!

Having a day at the movies also involves sitting or lying comfortably, but after a while in the same position, certain ailments may appear. To avoid poor posture, try a positioning cushion. You will be able to choose the type of inclination you want, either low or pronounced and without a doubt, very comfortable. This type of cushion also helps relieve symptoms related to gastric reflux and congestion which can be very common after eating certain things or when a small cold sets in. Learn more

Spa day at home

On a beautiful cold winter day, what could be better than treating yourself to a moment of rest and relaxation without even having to put a little toe outside. When we think of a massage or body treatment, the first thing that comes to mind is visiting a spa even though there are plenty of things to recreate the same atmosphere in the comfort of your home.

First step, create the atmosphere of desired relaxation. Did you receive a divine-smelling candle during the holidays? Now is the perfect time to turn it on. Find the music that will inspire you to relax and let yourself be carried away by it.

Second step, select treatments for relaxation. A nice hot bath? A face mask or even a manicure? As long as it is a calming moment and brings you comfort, that is the goal. Besides, why not pamper your feet with a warm foot bath? Our feet being the base of our body and being used a lot, it is important to take care of them. Relax with a soothing bubble massage with invigorating water jets.

Third step, enjoy total relaxation and enjoy the feeling of being relaxed and energized. Enjoy your relaxation!
